For the weary soul with aching feet, Asiatown is paradise. A cruise down Bellaire Boulevard finds no shortage of illuminated “foot massage” signs, all promising an hour of targeted stress relief that will run you less than many a dinner bill. A good number of these spas specialize in reflexology, which applies pressure to specific zones of the feet corresponding to other body parts; all offer the chance to take a load off.

Oasis Massage Salon | 9889 Bellaire Blvd., Suite #331

This 10-year-old Houston spa comes highly recommended by its patrons, who vouch for its tranquility and soothing stress relief. You’ll find more than the standard fare of foot, body, or both here; Swedish, hot stone, and aromatherapy massages are all on the menu. Pressure varies by preference; a $50 deep-tissue session is genuinely drool-worthy. Spots fill up quickly, so be sure to call ahead.

Imperial Feet Reflexology | 5700 S. Gessner Road, Suite D

If you want your basic reflexology kicked up a notch, this is your spot. There’s standard $20/hour pricing, but for $5 more, a masseuse will use hot stones on your feet to stimulate reflex points. This place earns points for private (or semi-private, small-group) rooms and for customization—experts will tailor techniques to your needs, from pain relief to increased blood circulation.

Sunshine Foot Relax | 9440 Bellaire Blvd., Suite #110

If you need a massage but lack the foresight to plan ahead, there’s a good chance you’ll get in here—the parlor can usually accommodate walk-ins. While decidedly no-frills, the large, open space with about 20 side-by-side cots gets the job done. Friendly staffers effectively target pressure points and knead tired tissue for a deep, thorough massage that walks the line between relaxing and necessarily painful.
