It's July, so it's no surprise that all sorts of media outlets are looking for unique ways to showcase their American pride. Like Yahoo, which has compiled a list of 20 great American fashion companies who manufacture their products in the United States, including Houston's own Hamilton Shirts.

While many of the 20 brands on Yahoo's list are young companies inspired by the new emphasis on making goods locally, such as Detroit's Shinola watches and San Francisco hoodie experts American Giant; Hamilton, as most Houstonians know, has been making custom men's shirts in Houston since 1883, making them one of the oldest continually operated manufacturers in Texas and putting them in company with Levi's and Frye as some of the most prestigious heritage brands on Yahoo's list.

Yes, the fireworks may be over, but we never get tired of seeing Houston-based brands like Hamilton being highlighted for their commitment to American manufacturing.
