Selena fans have spoken—we'd do anything for Selena's iconic look. The late singer’s music made her the Tejano Queen and a touted crossover pop artist. Even beyond her songs, her signature style was not only sought after across borders, but even after two decades is still fresh and exciting—notice how bustiers are once again having a major fashion moment.

In 2015 fans circulated an online petition around the late singer's birthday begging celeb-friendly makeup brand to make a Selena collection, photoshopping her name and signature onto a tube of classic red lipstick. MAC was forced to deny the authenticity of the fan-created lipstick pictures, but soon after the company reached out to the Quintanilla family for a collaboration.

The much-awaited MAC Selena collection makes its debut Sept. 30 in her hometown of Corpus Christi with a blowout event featuring Prince Royce and goes on sale online on Oct. 1, with products in MAC stores Oct. 6. The line features a blush compact, five eyeshadows, three lipsticks, a lip gloss, one mascara, a tube of liquid eyeliner and a wide powder brush. The line offers fans the opportunity to hone in on Selena’s different looks, from her everyday liner-and-red-lip style to show-stopping glam worthy of a performance in the Astrodome.

“There are three things that matter to me as her sister,” Suzette Quintanilla Arriaga said in a MAC-sponsored Q&A. “Fashion, a make-up line, and a perfume.”

The star products are the lipsticks, all of which Selena would have certainly used, according to Arriaga. (And yes, Selena did her own make-up!) Each is named after one of her most popular songs: Amor Prohibido is the softest, a nude with a hint of rose and a glazed finish; Como La Flor is a snappy, candy apple red perfect for a night out; Dreaming of You has a deep russet hue with a matte finish, while Bidi Bidi Bom Bom is a glittery, girly pink lip gloss.

Of five eyeshadows, four are similarly named after Selena's songs, but Arriaga's favorite color is named for the singer herself, is a bright plum purple shade with a shimmery finish, which is perhaps meant to remind us of the iconic one-piece (the one we all wish we could wear!) worn during her final Houston concert at the Astrodome in 1995.

From box to product, everything MAC Selena comes in purple packaging, with her signature embossed on top in shimmering lavender. “I’m so excited and Selena would be so excited, it feels so right,” says Arriaga. “It feels perfect.”
