Summer is coming, and around here that means it's makeup melting season. Enter tinted moisturizers—including BB and CC creams—which not only keep skin dewy, not sweaty, and offer light coverage but also contain much-needed sun protection. But these summer must-haves are not created equally, and while some of the best can go for $40 or more, here's the lowdown on some of my favorite summer face-savers that can be found for under $20.

No7 Dual Action Tinted Moisturizer, $13.99

I have been a fan of this British drugstore line since they started carrying it at Target. Budget-friendly tinted moisturizers tend to not come with as many color options as their more expensive counterparts, but the pigment in the 'medium' tint is pretty good for those with light or medium skin tones. It blends well and has good level of coverage using a small amount—no wonder it's frequently sold out!

e.l.f. Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20, $3

No cost-conscious make-up list would be complete without an item from e.l.f. on it. This hyper-affordable drugstore brand can be hit or miss, but the hits have become true beauty cult faves, and this tinted moisturizer is one of them. While all four colors are aimed at those with lighter skin tones, they have a good consistency and cover well despite its lightweight feel. Did we mention it's only $3?

NYX Tinted Moisturizer ($10) and Color Correcting Liquid Primer ($14)

Simply called “Tinted Moisturizer,” this product from NYX has more color options than most of their budget-friendly competitors with seven options to choose from. With good coverage and easy blending,  it leaves the skin with a little bit of a glow which means you can skip the blush, since less-is-more is the best philosophy for summer skin.

Although it is not technically a tinted moisturizer and has no SPF, I have to mention NYX Color Correcting Liquid Primer. I bought this on a whim because I have very yellow undertones in my skin and was advised to look for something yellowish. Trying it out, my first thought was, "Are you kidding? This is actually yellow," but I once I started wearing it under makeup I started getting major compliments. It comes in a variety of colors for different issues—green to neutralize redness, blue to brighten sallowness for fair complexions, etc—and works just like a tinted moisturizer, so go for it.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Aging Perfector, $14

I was not really sure if I would like this—I had previously tried Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Glow Sheers line and Healthy Skin Enhancer line and really did not like them. This newest addition to the line has been getting a lot positive press so I figured I would give it a try. Well, they got this one right. Unlike the other products in the line that have too much shimmer and not enough pigment, which can actually accentuate just what you are trying to cover, this one has a more concentrated pigment, just a touch of glow — and the colors are spot-on.
