The Chic Boutique showroom is open through Saturday at 1111 Uptown Park.

The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary Luncheon held Wednesday at River Oaks Country Club is one of the charitable season's marquee lunch events, sold out weeks in advance. But that doesn't mean you can't join in the fun—and snag some designer style for a song, too.

One of the reasons this event is so popular is the accompanying Chic Boutique, for which these ladies who lunch empty out their closets of last year's gently worn or unused handbags, clothing, jewelry and shoes to help raise money to support Salvation Army programs, which include the Angel Tree, Boys and Girls Clubs and residences that help women transition from homelessness, jail or drug rehabilitation programs back into the community.

Shopping the Chic Boutique for designer deals is a River Oaks tradition—now this year anyone can join in the treasure hunt. In addition to the sales during the luncheon, SAWA has organized a Chic Boutique Showroom at 1111 Uptown Park, in the former Baker Furniture space. Shopping at Wednesday's opening night required a $20 donation, but for the next three days anyone can stop in and shop. Expect three tiers of good on the shelves and racks: coveted luxury designers like Valentino, Escada, Chanel and Prada, entry-luxury lines like Milly, Kate Spade, L.K. Bennett and Lafayette 148 and finds from mall standards like Banana Republic, Ann Taylor and Talbots.

Thursday and Friday the Chic Boutique showroom is open for "second chance" shopping from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with "last chance deals" available Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It's the most guilt-free shopping you'll find all year.
