First came the Barbie truck. Now comes Hello Kitty.
The bright, happy-go-lucky Hello Kitty Cafe Truck is making two Houston-area stops in the coming days.
The “cafe on wheels,” decked out in imagery, treats, and merch of everyone’s favorite cartoon feline, will pop in at The Woodlands Mall (at the Acorn Entrance, between Macy’s and Nordstrom) from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
But that’s not all. The truck will then head over to Baybrook Mall (by It’Sugar) from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 17, before heading up to Fort Worth.
The Hello Kitty Truck concept, based on the über-popular Japanese character, first hit the mean streets of America back in 2014. Since then, the two trucks (East and West—we’re West) have traveled to more than 100 cities across the country, brightening people’s days and offering sweet desserts.
The truck’s foodie menu includes both madeleine and hand-decorated cookie sets, macaron and mini-cake packs, and bow-shaped water bottles.
And the merchandise selection has all the cutesy, limited-edition Kitty gear you could dream of, like sprinkle mugs, enamel pin sets, canvas totes, rainbow thermoses, cookie plushes, and more.
At each event, face masks will be required, and social distancing will be maintained by stanchions and markers on the ground. There’ll be handless payment options and hand sanitizer available.
