Scroll through Instagram on any given day, and you’ll see fabulously posed photos of influencers in fabulous locations and fabulous clothes. I can totally do that, you think, before scoping through your closet and realizing all of your pre-pandemic clothes (we all know you only bought biker shorts and loungewear last year) are very much unfabulous.
Well, folks, now’s your time to change … literally—get out of your ratty T-shirt and skinny jeans and shop elevated styles and the best fashion during a May 19 influencer pop-up sale at the River Oaks Shopping Center.
During the “Blogger Closet Sale,” put on by local marketing company madmeg, visitors can browse accessories and clothing pieces straight from the closets of nine of Houston’s most fashion-forward influencers, like Madiha Dhanani and Keli Rabon. You’ll find gently worn designer items in a variety of styles, occasions, and sizing, Kathryn Durkin, madmeg’s PR specialist, tells Houstonia. “Everything from shoes to hand bags to dresses, tops and jeans.”
Says Durkin, the sale is one of madmeg’s most popular events. “There’s never not been a line out the door prior to the event.”
Masks are required, but you can really live that glamorous, carefree influencer lifestyle while sipping champagne and munching on other light bites as you shop.
All sales will be through Venmo. Anything that isn’t bought will be donated to Arms of Hope.
As for the influencers, the diverse group of women at the event “are some of the most well known names in the city and looked to for fashion trends,” says Durkin. See the complete list below.
