Conroe native Parker McCollum joins the RodeoHouston 2022 performance lineup.

Rodeo Houston 2022 is near and fans are eager to find out who else is joining the concert lineup. One new name should make country music fans excited. Parker McCollum announced he's set to take the stage on March 12. He's the fourth Texas artist to join an all-star roster of performances to mark HLSR's 90th anniversary.

“We can’t wait to welcome yet another Texas native and country music star to the RODEO HOUSTON stage for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo celebration in 2022,” Rodeo President and CEO Chris Boleman said in a statement. “Parker McCollum’s passion for country music and Texas roots will certainly resonate among rodeo fans and Texans, alike.”

McCollum is from the Houston area, born in Conroe, and released his first single “Pretty Heart,” back in 2013, his website says. Since then, he’s released his debut album, Limestone Kid, been nominated for an American Country Music Award, and sold out many well-known Texas venues,  including Stubbs, Billy Bob’s Texas, and Nutty Brown Amphitheatre.

The 29-year-old country artist shared an emotional message with his fans on social media.

“Hadn't cried since the day my grandad passed away," he shared in an Instagram post. "When I got the call about the Houston Rodeo, I actually had to pull over and cry. Worked so damn hard every single day for so long hoping I'd get to do this one day. I cannot even explain how big of an honor this is for me. My band, my family, my team, and the state of Texas all helped to make this happen. This is all I ever wanted. March 12 in Houston, TX we will come out swinging y'all don't miss it!"

McCollum joins Bun B, George Strait, and Cody Johnson who were previously announced as performers on the lineup. The remaining musicians will be announced on Jan. 5.

Fans can purchase tickets for Parker McCollum starting January 13, 2022. For more information, visit Rodeo Houston's website.
