Crave Cupcakes Opening Soon in The Woodlands

The new mixed-use development at Research Forest Lakeside will house a third location of Crave Cupcakes.
A quick Google search of "cupcakes" and "The Woodlands" reveals a surprising lack of cupcakeries in the great white north. One wonders with sudden concern where all the maids of honor in The Woodlands are purchasing pastries for their bridal showers, where all the mothers are calling ahead for cupcakes for their daughter's Frozen-themed birthday party, where all the sisters-in-law are scooping up sweets for their baby showers, where all the administrative assistants are getting gluten-free cupcakes for their boss' birthday.

Enter Crave Cupcakes, which is opening a location in The Woodlands late next month at 2501 Research Forest Dr. The bakery will set up shop in a new mixed-use site northwest of The Woodlands Mall and Market Street, in the new Research Forest Lakeside development. In addition to five office buildings, the development will also house four retail buildings.
Ruggles Green has already announced plans to open a location early next month in the same retail structure as Crave Cupcakes, overlooking Lake Woodlands. College Station-based burger chain Grub Burger Bar recently opened down the street, as has another location of Corner Bakery Cafe, though its cupcake bites—which come in three varieties—are no competition for Crave's mini cupcakes, which come in more than a dozen flavors.
This will mark the third location of Crave Cupcakes. The original in Uptown Park opened in 2009 as one of Houston's first dedicated cupcake bakeries, sparking a citywide craze and a slew of imitators—some more successful than others.
