Good news for downtown's 9-to-5 crowd: As of this week, you'll no longer have to sit in traffic to reach your after-work sweat sesh. RYDE, the locally owned indoor cycling studio in River Oaks, has opened a second location in the heart of downtown—and yes, there's direct tunnel access.

It's also good news for the rest of us looking for more spinning in the city. The studio at 802 Rusk St., which officially opened Tuesday, has 57 custom Schwinn Carbon Blue bikes with performance tracking systems and currently offers five classes each weekday starting at 5:45 a.m., including early morning, lunchtime, and evening sessions.

Classes are 45 minutes and taught to the beat of high-energy music, which varies by instructor, and tone riders' legs, arms, core, and back. RYDE bikes track your progress and will privately email you performance metrics after each class.

The studio–owned by Andrew Pappas, Ashley Gooch, and Lisi Garcia–was designed by Lauren Rottet and is the first dedicated indoor cycling studio located downtown. Amenities include fully stocked locker rooms, nine showers, on-site parking, and the aforementioned direct tunnel access through downtown's Esperson Building.
