If you're looking for a new spin class, start here. ClassPass, the fitness subscription service that helps membership book classes at 8,500 partner studios in cities around the world, last week announced its fifth annual Instructor Awards, which includes two Houston fitness professionals.

Throughout December, ClassPass asked members to nominate their favorite instructors—the membership service has facilitated more than 45 million reservations to date, so you can be sure its users have some opinions. Thousands answered the call, and 116 instructors in 58 cities (one woman and one man in each) earned the coveted distinction.

In Houston, that went to Kymeko Taylor at RIDE and Zach West at Revolution Studio.

Kymeko Taylor

Taylor, who teaches at RIDE's Heights and Woodlands studios, has won fans for her upbeat playlists and motivational approach. ClassPass members agreed her 45 minute-classes "fly by" thanks to her energy and heart. "Her energy and ability to connect with the class is like no instructor I've ever known. She moves you and the entire class to be better and stronger than you ever thought you could be," read one nomination from a ClassPass user named Debi.

"I hated spin class before I came to this studio and she changed my whole outlook," said another from Alpana. "Her music and enthusiasm are contagious, and she has no idea how much she has helped me get through tough times in my life—45 minutes with her has been therapeutic and a mental escape."

Users heaped similar praise upon West, who teaches at Revolution Studio in River Oaks, Memorial City, and Sugar Land. Respondents especially emphasized his positivity and passion, even through admittedly grueling workouts. "Zach is the most motivating instructor I have ever had on ClassPass. It doesn't matter if I feel like it's impossible or I'm ready to go, he always gets me to push a little further. No one is more deserving," said Kelly.

"He not only pushes us physically but mentally. He gives his all; he encourages, enlightens, and uplifts us in every class," Janice agreed. "He has transformed my life and so many others'."

Besides endless bragging rights, Houston's favorite spin instructors also get prizes from Dagne Dover and Lane Eight. You can see the full list of winners here.
