Get Back to Your Roots with This New Bellaire Hair Concept

Fear the grow-out no more: A new treatment salon has arrived in Houston, and this time, it's all about the roots. After beginning construction in September, Just Roots Color Bar is coming soon to 6809 Chimney Rock Road in Bellaire. Its specialty is exactly what it sounds like: Founders Gabriel Perez and Arthur Barnes decided to focus primarily on root touch-ups to cater to their "maintenance clients."
“We're bringing a whole new level of care and artistry to a section of the market that has been feeling totally neglected for a long time," Perez said. "We're going to change the industry, and we're so fortunate to be able to start this revolution right here in Houston.”
Although root touch-ups are the primary focus, this 11-chair color bar offers a wide range of fast and convenient services. From blowouts to grey-blending to balyage, a lot can be accomplished at Just Roots without the major time commitment and advanced scheduling most color enthusiasts would run into when booking with their regular salons. (Retouches start at $55; full color starts at $80, and a blowdry is free with any color service on the menu.)
We're not suggesting you cheat on your stylist here, but if you can walk off the street and into a chair for a fraction of the price and time of a normal salon visit, you will entertain the offer. It is only a touch-up, after all. Everyone knows it’s not officially cheating until the scissors come out, and the folks at Just Roots don’t offer haircuts because they recognize a boundary when they see it.
As the only salon in Houston to focus explicitly on maintenance hair treatments, Just Roots is focused on efficiency when it comes to color application and styling. It doesn’t take a NASA scientist to know Houstonians are in a hurry—just hop on any highway during rush hour—and Just Roots caters to Houstonians' need for speed and stunning hair. The salon markets its services to clients with less than two inches of new growth, people in search of glossing or conditioning treatments, and those with busy work schedules who can't get in with their regular colorist.
“We're not about assembly line or cookie cutter hairdressing, we're about making each guest look and feel amazing without feeling like they've spent their whole day in the salon,” Perez said. In that case, you'll find us in a Just Roots chair just as soon as the bar starts stocking "fashion hair colors."
