So, guess what? 2020 is almost gone. We're nearly there. January 1 is just a few weeks away. I take it you'd like to celebrate, right?

We've rounded up a list of restaurants hosting special New Year's Eve dinners (adhering to social distancing policies), and if you'd rather stay home, some are even doing kits! Also, we've included some New Year's Day brunch options, in case you want eggs to start 2021.

Ah, 2021 ... please be better!

To-Go New Year's Eve & Day

a'Bouzy: Instead of poppin' bottles inside a'Bouzy, the joint wants you to take the party home. For $308 get a New Year's Eve Party Kit for four, which includes ingredients for cocktails, Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut NV, Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Brut NV, Moët & Chandon Brut Rosé NV, Moët & Chandon Imperial Ice NV, goblets, a Spotify playlist, party hats, tiaras, and noisemakers. Pick up through Dec. 31.

Bistro 555: A takeout option of its New Year's Eve dinner available. Entrée options are slow-roasted lamb shank with rosemary sauce, tournedos with potato gratin and foie gras sauce, and wild red snapper with lemon butter sauce. $85 per person, plus tax and gratuity; order by Dec. 29 and pick up on Dec. 30.

Georgia James: For $95, get a 22-ounce 44 Farms ribeye (raw with instructions for cooking), eight ounces each of braised cabbage and bacon sausage; smashed potatoes; and berry crisp, and party favors. Serves two. Order by Dec. 27 and pick up at the Hay Merchant on Dec. 30. 

Sixty Vines: Pre-order a celebration package for two at $150. Included is a selection of salami and cheese, filets with grilled shrimp, a choice of side, and deviled affogato, plus a 375-milliliter bottle of Luc Belaire Rosé (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur), a 375-milliliter Taittinger "La Française" Brut (Reims), rosé-colored glasses, a confetti popper, sparklers, and a link to a Spotify playlist. Order by Dec. 29.

UB Preserv: For your lazy New Year's Day at home, get Fritos and black-eyed pea dip, collard green samosas and chutney, Japanese egg salad sandwich, Mala pork cracklin's pickle/cheese/sausage plate, cold fried chicken with coleslaw and pepper jelly, and build-your-own ice cream sandwiches. $65, serves two. Order by Dec. 27 and pick up between 5 p.m. and 1 a.m. Dec. 31 or between noon and 2 p.m. Jan. 1.

Uchi: If getting omakase curbside, caviar and bubbles services also available for curbside pickup for an additional $125.

Dine-in New Year's Eve

Backstreet Cafe: Four-course menu, including fare like cast-iron ribeye, dry-aged duck, and striped bass. Live music and sparkling cocktail toast at midnight. Seatings start at 5:30 p.m. with last reservations at 10 p.m. $79, plus beverages, tax, and gratuity.

Bistro 555: Multi-course dinner with two-hour seatings at 6 to 6:30 p.m. and 8 to 8:30 p.m. Entrée options are slow-roasted lamb shank with rosemary sauce, tournedos with potato gratin and foie gras sauce, and wild red snapper with lemon butter sauce. Complimentary glass of champagne with dessert. A 5 p.m. early-bird option is available with a smaller menu, $55. Main seatings are $75 per person, plus tax and gratuity ($40 deposit via PayPal necessary for main dinner, $20 for early-bird).

Bludorn: Four-course menu that includes a middle course of risotto with black truffles. Options include beef Wellington, quail, and ora salmon. Champagne toast at midnight. $155 per person. Kids menu also available ($35) that includes chicken or salmon.

Bobcat Teddy's: Bowties and Bubbles celebration with champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight.

Brasserie du ParcOpen for lunch (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and dinner (5 p.m. to midnight). Three-course prix fixe menu served, with entrées that include roasted duck breast, beef tenderloin, and cod with cockles. $78 per adult (beverages, tax, gratuity extra).

Brennan's of Houston: Special menu with live music and giveaways. Seatings from 5 to 9:45 p.m. Reservations necessary. Call 713-522-9711.

Caracol: A four-course dinner will be served from 5:30 p.m. to midnight New Year's Eve. Featured items include sea scallops, duck breast, and rice cooked in black bean broth. Sparkling toast at midnight and live music. $85 per person (beverages, tax, gratuity extra).

Dario's Steakhouse & Seafood: Three-course meal, including items like branzino. $95. Seatings begin at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m. Reservations necessary; call 281-304-1825.

Doris Metropolitan: The fine Israeli restaurant will have a balloon drop, tomahawks available, a caviar menu, and a 5-liter bottle of champagne to pop. 

East End Backyard: New Year's Under the Tent party from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on the bar's patio. DJs, party favors, giveaways, and champagne toast, plus $20 prix-fixe menu including bacon-wrapped chicken brochette and choice of either pork tenderloin, pan-seared airline chicken breast, or chargrilled bistro shoulder tender. No cover charge.

Etoile Cuisine et Bar: The Uptown Park restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch and from 5 p.m. to midnight for dinner. A four-course prix fixe meal will be served, headlined by roasted duck breast, beef tenderloin, and pan-seared sea bass. Reservations required. $88 per person (beverages, tax, gratuity extra).

FM Kitchen & Bar: Seatings until 10 p.m. with complimentary champagne for all at end of visit.

Grooves: Party from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a four-course meal including sous vide ribeye and whole fried snapper, plus cocktail pairings sponsored by Courvoisier, and a live band. $65 per person.

Hugo's: Enjoy a four-course meal, including main dishes like grilled tenderloin, rack of lamb, and pan-seared fish. Live music and complimentary sparkling wine toast. Open 5 p.m. to midnight with last reservation at 10 p.m. $72 per person (beverages, tax, gratuity extra).

La Lucha: Four-course meal featuring options like chilled seafood platter, gumbo z'herbes, fried chicken, shrimp, hushpuppies, New York strip, a banana split, and more. $65.95 per person. 

La Table: Seatings at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Downstairs menu à la carte, while upstairs menu will be prix fixe. DJ on the patio all night and bar open until 1 a.m. Reserve by calling 713-439-1000.

Le Colonial: Open from 11 a.m. to midnight with prix fixe lunch ($65) and dinner ($85). Items include pan-seared seabass, poached lobster, shaking beef, braised beef short ribs, and five-spice duck cassoulet. 

Liberty Kitchen: A wine dinner series that runs through Jan. 10 kicks off on New Year's Eve with a four-course meal pairing with bottles from DAOU Vineyards. Items include chilled jumbo prawn, seared duck, petite stuffed filet, and Nutella mousse with vanilla bean tuile. $75 per person. 

Loch Bar: Open with special dijon- and herb-crusted prime rib. Live music, champagne toast, confetti cannons and more.

Lucille's: The popular Southern comfort spot will showcase a specialty brunch on New Year's Eve. Seatings from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Live music. Reservation only. Call 713-568-2505.

Marvino's Italian Steakhouse: Three-course meal, including items like filet mignon with lobster meat. $79. Seatings begin at 4 p.m. Reservations necessary; call 281-220-7200.

Monkey's Tail: Discounted champagne and wine specials.

Musaafer: A six-course prix fixe menu will be served. Live entertainment with DJ. Seatings at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., with later seating including champagne toast. $95 for early seating, $130 for later seating.

North Italia: Three-course prix fixe available with entrees that include lobster fra diavolo and roasted butternut squash agnolotti. $65. Specialty cocktails also on offer. Takeout and delivery also available.

Ouisie's Table: Both a la carte and prix fixe are available for New Year's Eve. The prix fixe meal is $45 per person, plus tax and gratuity. You can also order a bottle of champagne for $40. Seatings start at 6 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. Takeout available, as well, but order several days in advance.

Ouzo Bay: Open with specials of seared duck breast and Alaskan king crab. Live music, champagne toast, confetti cannons and more.

Pappas Bros. Steakhouse: Prix fixe menu with mains including prime ribeye, prime New York strip, grilled double lamb chops, and filet mignon. $124.95. $114.94 between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Takeout also available.

Pier 6 Seafood & Oyster HouseThere will be à la carte items plus menu specials. Reservation recommended.

Pinstripes: Special menu including braised short ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and bordelaise sauce. Champagne toasts for all guests and sparkling juice or cider for children. Reservations recommended. Call 346-297-1770.

Rainbow Lodge: Open from 5 to 10 p.m. with a special three-course menu featuring dishes like rainbow trout, duck leg confit, lobster risotto, and lamb ribeye. $79 per person (plus tax, beverages, and gratuity).

The Rustic: Dueling piano performance by Sean Cowin and a special guest at Post Oak (1121 Uptown Park Blvd., #4), and performance by Chris Boise at Downtown (1836 Polk St.). Free with RSVP (food and drink not free); tickets for Post Oak here and tickets for Downtown here.

State of Grace: Special menu with items like wagyu tartare, scallop crudo, braised lamb shank, and seared diver scallops. $125 per person. Wine pairings optional for $45 and $95.

Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen: Both locations will feature a tequila and taco flight from 4 p.m. to close on New Year's Eve for $22.99.

The Union Kitchen: At all locations, get a prix fixe menu at $60 per person or $100 per couple. Seafood, surf-and-turf or prime rib main course plus sides, soup or salad, dessert, and glass of sparkling wine. To-go dinners will include a bottle of champagne.

Tobiuo Sushi & Bar: Tasting menu with new items. Reservations only. Call 281-394-7156.

Tony's: Two seatings are available: 6 p.m. ($95) and 9:15 p.m. with live music by Nick and the Hits ($195). Prix-fixe menu offered with selections including fettuccine alla vodka, truffled prime filet of beef, chianti-braised short ribs, and rack of lamb. Caviar and bubbles specials, too. Weights + Measures: Four-course dinner under the stars with seatings at 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. $75 per person with complimentary champagne cocktail. Indoor seats also available. Call 713-654-1970.

Xochi: Four-course menu served with entrées like grilled halibut, bacon-wrapped quail, and grilled tenderloin. Open 5 p.m. to midnight with the last reservation at 10 p.m. Live music and patio seating. $79 per person.

Dine-in New Year's Day

a'Bouzy: Welcome 2021 with a brunch at the popular see-and-be-seen spot from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Backstreet Café: Special à la carte brunch with black-eyed peas. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations recommended.

Common Bond: At all locations, get a weekend brunch menu from New Year's Day to Jan. 3. $10 mimosa carafes will be available. 

East End Backyard: Opens at 11 a.m. for a Hair of the Dog brunch event with mimosas, bellinis, and pickle vodka bloody marys.

FM Kitchen & Bar: Full brunch menu and drink specials from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Liberty Kitchen: Brunch from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 

Revelry on Richmond: Special $5 bloody mary bar and other deals.

State Fare Kitchen+Bar: Both locations open for brunch 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. New Year's Day, with free black-eyed peas for every table. At-home brunch kits available, as well, including eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, pancake mix, jam, butter, and syrup. $50. Order through Jan. 3.

The Union Kitchen: Open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with full brunch.

Traveler's Table: The restaurant is hosting a "hangover brunch" from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with specials to fight back that long and wild New Year's Eve.

Weights + Measures: Disco Brunch planned for New Year's Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fried chicken, French toast, and more. DJ and disco ball, and servers will wear disco attire. Call 713-654-1970.
