Plus, Indigo is celebrating its anniversary with a block party.

Hand rolls are coming to the Heights this fall, via Hando.

Remember Hando? The hand-roll restaurant coming to the Heights? It's opening in the fall at 518 W. 11th St. and has partnered up with NextSeed for funding. So far Hando has raised $129,600 on the crowd-based investment website. Hando aims to have a 24-seat dining room where hand rolls are served with Japanese spirits.

Indigo is marking its one-year anniversary (and what a year it's been) with a cookout-style block party from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday outside the restaurant. Chef Jonny Rhodes invited chef Fermín Nuñez of hot new Austin restaurant Suerte to the party, and the two will be putting together a pretty exciting menu. Also on tap for the event is a domino tournament and music from DJ Mr. Rogers. Tickets are $35 ahead of the event, $45 at the door, while some complimentary tickets will be offered to residents of Indigo's Trinity Gardens neighborhood.

The wild Candytopia exhibit is pretty popular, and so much so that it's creeping up on its millionth guest (between its locations in Atlanta, Dallas, and Houston). Candytopia says it's days from finding out the identity of No. 1 million, and that person will be rewarded justly: a lifetime supply of Candytopia chocolate bars; a guaranteed four-pack of tickets to any Candytopia event, anywhere, forever; a customized piece of framed candy art by Jackie Sorkin; a year supply of America's Favorite Marshmallows and a bag of Jet-Puffed Marshmallows each week for a year; a lifetime supply of Candy Club (six jars of premium candy); and a swag bag to be given out on the day of attendance. Whew. Buy those tickets.

On Thursday, Riel is hosting a wine dinner with Broadbent Selections & Johann de Wet featuring the chardonnays of De Westhof Estate. Essentially, get a four-course meal from chef Ryan Lachaine with four distinct chardonnays. Tickets are $78 for the dinner, lasting from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Montrose restaurant. Email [email protected] for more.

Speaking of wine events, Brennan's of Houston is hosting a tasting with five selections from Far Niente Winery in Napa Valley. There will be light bites to complement. Event is from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., and tickets are $25. For more, visit the website.

And it's time for another bluefin tuna breakdown at Katy sushi restaurant Tobiuo. Chef Mike Lim will create a tasting with Spanish bluefin at 6:30 p.m. July 30. Tickets are $115 per person, and 25 seats are available. We previously wrote about how great it is to eat at Tobiuo; this would be a heck of an opportunity to visit.
