Where to Eat In Houston This Valentine's Day

Have the most romantic night ever thanks to these special menus and items.

It was Paul McCartney who once sang: "You'd think that people would have had enough with silly love songs, but I look around me and I see it isn't so." A lot of things fall out of favor, but love is eternally on brand. So, Valentine's Day? Always a big day. And every V-Day, restaurants offer special menus and items that play to our romantic desires.

Here's what special menus and items are out there this year in Houston.

  • At Uchi, get an eight-course omakase menu ($175 for two) with madako (octopus) crudo, squab with pomegranate, and more. Reservations recommended.
  • No fuss at Cottonwood in the GOOF: $5 wines by the glass and margaritas from 7 to 10 p.m., plus live music from Two Tons of Steel.
  • At La Grange, get $4 wines by the glass, $5 margaritas, and $1 oysters.
  • State Fare is offering a four-course meal from 5 to 9:30 p.m. on Valentine's Day. Dishes include steak, fish, and a dessert sampler with three-layer chocolate mousse cake. $65 per person. Reserve by Feb. 13.
  • Head to Field & Tides for a three-course meal that includes pan-seared fish, fried beef short rib, and Alabama chocolate stack cake. It's $60 per person.
  • The Classic All Day is launching Date Night, a menu of sharable plates available all Valentine's Day weekend, plus on Fridays and Saturdays afterward. For Valentine's Day, get Texas bone-in short rib, 44 Farms bistro filet, and more for $48-$52 for two.
  • Xochi is offering a couple's menu Feb. 8-13 and 15-17 for $110 per duo (beverage, tax, gratuity extra). That includes dishes like rolled skirt steak and rack of lamb chops. On Feb. 14, dinner is $79 per person with the usual extras and includes plates like beef tenderloin, veal rack chops, and braised duck picadillo. Live music by Media Luna. Reservations are highly recommended.
  • Hugo's is also splitting up the fare with the couple's menu Feb. 8-13 and 15-17 (including fire-roasted lobster, braised duck, New York steak at $110 per person) and the Valentine's menu on Feb. 14 (including lamb chops, lobster, tenderloin at $79 per person. Live music by Viento.
  • And yes, Caracol, too. The couple's menu (Feb. 8-13, 15-17, $110 per couple) includes tenderloin, pan-seared striped bass, and slow-roasted pork shank. The Valentine's menu (Feb. 14, $85 per person, live music by Ikaru) includes halibut, lobster, tenderloin, and more.
  • Let's round out Hugo Ortega's Valentine's Day offerings with Backstreet Cafe. The couple's menu (Feb. 8-13, 15-17, $110 per couple) has scallops, salmon, lamb chops, and more, while the Valentine's Day menu (Feb. 14, $75 per person) has duck confit, halibut, grilled ribeye, and more.
  • La Table's Valentine's Day: At Marche, get a la carte options like butter-poached Maine lobster, branzino, and soufflé for two. Upstairs at Chateau it's a $125 prix fixe menu with that Maine lobster, pan-seared Hudson Valley foie gras, and braised veal shank "osso bucco." Reservations are recommended. 
  • TRIS in The Woodlands is cooking up a four-course Valentine's Day dinner for $85 per person. Entrées include tenderloin, pork shank, and bronzino.
  • CRU in The Woodlands is hosting a four-course dinner for $55 per person with plates that include filet mignon, scallops, and rack of lamb.
  • Etioile Cuisine et Bar is hosting a three-course prix fixe meal for $78 per person. Wine pairings an additional $28 per person. Plates include duck foie gras, seared sea bass, and veal tenderloin medallions.
  • At Brasserie du Parc, enjoy a three-course meal for $58 on Valentine's Day. Or you can go a la carte with the prix fixe offerings, which include filet mignon, lobster bisque, and Angus ribeye. 
  • The Butcher Shop at B&B Butchers has a prix fixe take-out menu available that includes two appetizers, an entrée, three sides, two desserts, and chocolate-covered strawberries for $130 plus tax. At the restaurant, you can pre-order flowers and champagne to be at your table when you arrive (Feb. 13-16 reservations, with 24-hour notice). Call ahead.
  • At Ouisie's Table, get an a la carte experience, along with house-made chocolate truffles (advanced orders necessary) and bottles of champagne (Tattinger Brut for $50 per bottle plus two truffles, also order in advance). Reservations are required in advance (make your truffle order then).
  • Roka Akor has a four-course meal planned that includes Snake River Farm filet, plus wagyu upgrades, along with maki and a sashimi platter. The dinner is $98 per person and served 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 5-11 p.m. on Valentine's Day.
  • Third Coast has a four-course meal lined up from 5-10 p.m. on Valentine's Day. Dishes include paella risotto, filet mignon, and Scottish salmon.
  • The Dunlavy has a three-course meal set at $95 per person, with seatings at 6 and 8 p.m. Complimentary champagne and passed hors d'oeuvres are included.
  • At Coppa Osteria, it's a three-course meal for $49 per person on Feb. 14. Pair with a bottle of Piper Heidsieck Champagne for $49.
  • Go to Brasserie 19 for a three-course meal at $65 per person on Feb. 14. Optional champagne and wine pairings. 
  • Schnitzel on Valentine's Day? King's Bierhaus is hosting a five-course dinner on Feb. 14 for $60 per couple. Course one is German schnapps, and from there you'll get a soup or salad, appetizer, entrée, and dessert.
  • Come to Hungry's anytime Feb. 13-16 and get a shareable dessert with the purchase of a bottle of Moët & Chandon Brut ($75).
  • The Grove has a three-course meal planned for Valentine's Day. Entrées include New York strip and lobster tail. The dinner is $100 per couple, and reservations are encouraged.
  • At Bistro Provence, get a three-course meal on Feb. 14 for $69 per person. Seatings at 6, 6:30, 7:30, 8, and 9 p.m.
  • The General Public at CityCentre is giving every guest age 21 and older who pays for a meal a complimentary glass of champagne paired with a Cacao & Cardamom artisan chocolate. The offer extends Feb. 14-17.
  • There's a three-course dinner at Rainbow Lodge on Valentine's Day, which includes a glass of champagne. It's $85 per person plus tax, gratuity, and beverages.
  • Truluck's Seafood and Crab House, the upscale restaurant with locations in the Galleria area and The Woodlands, is offering a special TruLuv cocktail of vodka, orgeat, strawberry rhubarb syrup, and Aperol. Advanced reservations are recommended.
  • Trying The Boardwalk at Towne Lake? Jaxton's is offering a three-course French meal with optional wine pairings; seatings at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and price is $59.95 per person. Flying Vine will celebrate on Saturday, Feb. 16 with a burlesque dinner. 
  • Tex-Mex for V-Day? Lupe Tortilla is offering, on Feb. 14 only, fajitas for two for $42.95. 
  • And Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen is offering the same kind of deal: fajitas, quail, and shrimp for two, plus a chocolate tres leches, for $48.95.
