It's Monday. Let’s start the week by cleaning out the inbox and scouring the Houston food and drink scene. Here is your weekly news update.

HELPFUL REMINDER: Thanksgiving is three days away. If you haven't yet, make your plans.

On Black Friday, Danton's Gulf Coast Seafood and Steaks is serving Thanksgiving leftovers. Dishes include a Thanksgiving turkey po'boy (a take on the day-after sandwich), yams, mashed potatoes, pasta salad, turkey enchiladas, and an $8 bloody Danton.

On Tuesday, go to The Burger Joint, spend $10 minimum, and say (at the counter) "Happy birthday!" That'll get you a free milkshake, because November 20 is the restaurant's third birthday. Who doesn't want a pre-Thanksgiving milk and sugar punch?

Houston-based Fajita Pete's has announced 10 new locations through a couple franchise agreements. Recent and future openings include a new spot in Katy (this week), one at 2600 Travis St. in Houston (January), and one planned for Cypress.

The Post Oak Hotel's Bloom & Bee is the 10th Houston restaurant to receive a AAA Four-Diamond Award, meaning it offers a "culinary experience to savor and enjoy." With this award, Bloom & Bee joins BCN Taste & Tradition, Brennan's, Da Marco, Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, The Pass, The Remington, Tony's, and Uchi. The city does not have a five-diamond restaurant.  

Speaking of honors: Two Houston restaurants scored spots on Eater's America's 38 Essential Restaurants list. They are (drum roll please) ... Himalaya and Xochi. The New Orleans location of Brennan's also made the list. Congrats to Kaiser Lashkari of Himalaya and Hugo Ortega of Xochi for the honors.

Also, Nancy's Hustle was named one of Thrillist's top 13 new restaurants in America in 2018. Kudos!
