This Is What Hunkering Down Looks Like
Thousands of Houstonians have lost their homes in the floods, and hundreds of heroes have stepped up and helped out by getting others to safety, setting up shelters and doing other remarkable things for their friends and neighbors.
The rest of us are the lucky ones, doing what we can by heeding government officials' pleas to stay home, off the roads and out of danger. We are hunkering down. But what does that look like, exactly?
That's what one Houstonian asked on Facebook, requesting answers in the forms of gifs. Call us stir crazy after three days of nonstop rain, but some of the answers she got were too hilarious not to share.
Step One: ALL THE CARBS.

It's like Sunday if Sunday literally never ended.
Trying not to over-react when watching the news.
The only thing standing between us and scurvy.
BRB going to sleep at 7 p.m.

When your out-of-town friends ask if you're okay and you respond, "I am legit concerned that I didn't buy enough cheese."

When the Game of Thrones finale is on but your power is out.
When stuff just starts to get weird.

Finally, we can all embrace sheetcaking.
Convincing your dog to go outside and pee.

The floor is ever seeing the sun again.
But mostly this. Lots of this.
